David Kemp

Managing Editor of Oyez / Adjunct Professor

David Kemp is the managing editor of Oyez, a U.S. Supreme Court multimedia and information resource, and Justia’s Verdict, a legal analysis and commentary website.

Mr. Kemp is an adjunct lecturer at Rutgers Law School and former legal writing professor at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. He teaches courses on lawyering skills, legal research and writing, and professional responsibility, and is piloting novel ways of bringing generative AI into classrooms. He has published and presented on the use of AI-driven tools to improve legal and medical education, to address systemic inequity in law and in medicine, to extend the reach and quality of legal education, and to improve public access to legal information.

Mr. Kemp received his BA in psychology from Rice University and his JD from Berkeley Law, where he served as the senior executive editor of the California Law Review and co-editor-in-chief of the Berkeley Journal of African American Law & Policy.
